Christmas events in Cyprus: markets and Santa Villages
It might be sunny and still nice to go to the beach, but Christmas is coming to Cyprus also. We are getting ready with all kind of markets and events and with the Christmas Villages all over the island.
Pick your favorite event and have fun!
Why you should get a winter tattoo in Cyprus
A winter tattoo could make a good “souvenir” to take home from your travels, and you will have it forever. It will not break in your luggage, and it will always remind you of the trip.
And if you think winter is not a good time to have one, let me convince you otherwise.
Christmas Villages – getting ready for the winter holiday
Is it too early to talk about Christmas Villages in Cyprus? I don’t think so, especially if you are the kind of person who likes to have a plan.
In this case, we present you the Christmas Village, 2024 edition: Agros, Deryneia, Fikardou, Kalopanagiotis, Kiti, Kyperounta, Lefkara, and Laiki Geitonia (in Nicosia).
From what I can tell, I hope I am not wrong, we have a new addition for this year, and this is Kiti, a village very close to Larnaca city.
Kitesurfing. Learn and practice extreme sports in Cyprus
68 years was the oldest person to get to the independent level of kitesurfing in Cyprus. That means there is still hope for me also. But I bet there are many of you out there that can do it sooner and for sure, faster than me.
And I was thinking of helping you with some info about doing it in the winter months, because, why not, this is possible in Cyprus.

Christmas starts in Ayia Napa this year!
The first city on the island to start the winter holidays and light the Christmas Tree is Ayia Napa.
From Saturday, 18 November, you can take your photo with Santa’s sleigh at the harbor area and then go for a swim. That is if the weather does not decide to change and bring some rain and lower temperatures.

Nissi Beach – the story of a busy November day at the beach
I wanted a quiet day by the sea, with the sound of waves and only a few people. And since I don’t go to Nissi Beach in the summer because it’s a bit crowded for my taste, I thought I’d try my luck today!
Not a good thought!

Cyprus as you never see it! Flooding and destroyed beaches
The rains in Cyprus are special. You can almost count the days it rains on your fingers, but you usually remember them.
Because they are torrential. The sky opens, and the water falls on the earth. And the streets become rivers in a few minutes, rivers that find their way to the sea by themselves, and here they destroy what they find in their way. Mostly the beaches. Sometimes even the roads. They tear up the asphalt, leaving holes and disaster behind.

Let’s chase the winter waves!
Many of you come to the island in the summer, when it is hot and the Mediterranean water is mostly warm and calm, like the water of a lake. And that’s good because we can all enjoy it.
Winter, however, is a different story, because we also have days, not very many to be honest, when the Mediterranean entertains us with waves. And when you see that the wind is blowing at over 40 km/h, it’s a shame not to go see the show offered by the sea.
Winter in Cyprus. What would I do if I came to the island from December to March
A visit to the island in the off-season means renting a car. At least that’s how I see things, so you can get here and there, see places where you can’t go with the buses.
When is the off-season in Cyprus?
And when I say off-season, I mean November – March. After many winters here I would risk coming here in January and February only if I can get last minute tickets, after I’ve checked the weather to make sure that I’m not sitting in my room, admiring the rain.
