Let’s fix a road and save some money! 300 meters of dirt road. That is the distance all the tourists have to drive or walk to reach the Sea Caves in Ayia Napa.
You need patience
Google Maps says 3 minutes drive. In reality… it depends on how well you can avoid all the potholes in the road. And the last time I went there, I found it impossible to do that in some places.
And when you reach the parking lot, if it is busy, good luck with the ballet you have to perform to avoid damaging your car.
If it is a rental you are driving to get there, then make sure your company doesn’t find out you did “extreme sports”.
Good only for Quad Bikes
The only happy ones going there are the tourists who rented a buggy or a quad. At the other end are those who are going there with babies in the stroller.
I believe the road should stay as a dirt road, but I also know it can be fixed a little bit, so nobody destroys the cars.
It is true it has been damaged in the winter time, due to the heavy rain we have on the island, but I trust that the municipality of Ayia Napa or whoever is responsible for this area, can do something to make our lives easier and keep our cars in one piece.
