New: Mediterranean cruise from Limassol

Starting in 2021, you can cruise the Mediterranean from Limassol, Cyprus. The Royal Caribbean International company has allocated the ship Jewel of the Sea for the port of Limassol. From here he will embark on trips of 7 nights each around the island of Aphrodite and in Greece – Athens, Rhodes, Crete, Mykonos and Santorini. The first departure is scheduled for July 10, 2021.

It is the first time in history that a cruise ship will depart from a port in Cyprus. Until now, only stops were made in the port of Limassol.

On the Jewel of the Sea you will find a casino, outdoor cinema by the pool, place to climb the rocks, spa and fitness, shopping area, live orchestra, sports fields, mini golf, pool parties and all kinds of other crazy things.

The vessel was built in 2004 and was renovated in 2016 with over 20 million euros. From December 2019 until now, it has been allocated to the port of Dubai.

The Royal Caribbean company owns a fleet of over 20 cruise ships, including Symphony of the Seas, which is the largest in the world.

How do you get here?

Now, if you are tempted by a boat ride on the Mediterranean, you can reach Cyprus by plane from your country. You will land at Larnaca or Paphos aiport. The distance to Limassol is approximately 60 km from both landing places.

The Cypriot authorities have announced for the time being that tourists are expected on the island most safely from the beginning of May. Access will only be done with a vaccine or a negative test.

Cyprus is currently under quarantine. This means that residents can only go out of the house twice a day, based on an SMS, or with the form certifying that they have to go to work. In addition, from 23.00 everyone must be at home.
